General Summary:
Under the direction of the HR Operations Manager, the HR Generalist is a strategic partner that aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated departments and/or facilities and achieves business results through collaboration. This position serves as a consultant to employees and management on a variety of Human Resource related issues, including but not limited to benefits, HRIS analytics, employee relations, policy application and compliance, workers' compensation, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist, in partnership with HR management, is a critical part of ensuring communication of key messages to employees across the organization and therefore needs to be highly skilled in communicating and working with others to ensure effectiveness. The HR Generalist seeks to develop integrated solutions and is a change agent for new and ongoing HR initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits and Leave Administration (80% is fully automated and/or 3rd party administration)
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, 401k, and worker's comp.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update payroll department.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing and reconciliation of monthly billings.
  • Serve as primary contact for employees regarding all benefits related inquires as well as the plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc.). Ensures that the workers' compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers' compensation laws.

Compliance
  • Maintain all employee files & records to ensure compliance to all applicable laws & regulations
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Assist with annual policy revisions & updates
  • Provide guidance to employees on a variety of HR/Employment regulatory agency requirements
  • Works with internal HR team members to schedule annual Compliance training throughout the site

Employee Relations (Expect to have an effective presence in all employee locations)
  • Provide relative updates of new hire orientation and perform the data entry & file creation of all new and existing staff
  • Participates in the management and resolution of general employee relations issues. May assist with conducting effective and thorough investigations and interviews to gather facts and make recommendations
  • Perform Exit Interviews & process all termination transactions within HRIS
  • Work with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention

Employee Engagement
  • Works with HR management to facilitate communication of and changes from employee satisfaction surveys
  • Provides appropriate advice, feedback, and development resources to improve effectiveness of individuals and teams
  • Active participation organizing company events assigned to Human Resources; may involve creating cross-functional focus groups and/or committees

Data Analytics
  • Generates reports, and provide insightful analysis of information gathered and make recommendations (HRIS reports)
  • Analyzes information/trends from various sources such as exit interviews, feedback from employees, etc. and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Input and retrieve data from HRIS

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or related field) required with min 2 years HR experience preferably in a highly technical manufacturing environment. Four to Six (4 to 6) years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree considered
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certified preferred
  • Thorough advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Excel, HRIS/Report generation experience required (ADP Work Force Now experience highly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of principles and best practices of Human Resources administration and labor laws required
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience in the following: thorough understanding of benefits administration and leave management; high level of professionalism to work effectively with various levels of talent; strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment under pressure of deadlines; strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal, required; regular, proactive interaction with employees is pertinent to the success of this role

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Travel of approx. 5-10%. Must be able to drive and accommodate some air travel. Will be spending 20-30% of time as various Cytovance locations attending department meetings and establishing meaningful employee relationships grounded in trust.
Work Environment:
Typical office environment; noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
