The HR Partner is a thought leader that aligns HR strategies with the business unit objectives by partnering with functional business teams to establish and implement HR programs/initiatives that foster organizational and people development and attain the business teams' goals.Strategic partnership and Alignment
- Formulate partnerships across the organization to deliver valuable HR service to leaders and employees that help achieve the strategic objectives of the organization
- Maintain a high level of business literacy about the business unit's core function, financial position, mid-range plans, culture, and competition
- Team with Talent Acquisition on growing our diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace
- Analyze business unit trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies to improve HR's contribution to the organization's goals
- Partner various business units to assess and optimally address human resources needs in areas such as organizational design, performance management, compensation and career, proficiency, and leadership development
- Assess and anticipate HR related needs create and implement solutions
- Actively support discussions and transfer of standard processes from different functions in the organization.
- Organizational Design
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and pipelining talent.
- Establish and maintain strong Business Partnerships with leadership and employees at all levels
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase output and retention
- Manage and resolve sophisticated employee relations issues
- Provide day-to-day performance management mentorship to leaders (mentor, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Manage HR projects cross-functionally, as needed
- Maintain extended understanding of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, appropriately reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with legal department as needed/required
- Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation in dealing with employee relations affairs
- Work with leadership to identify training needs for business units
- Evaluation and monitoring of training programs' success
- Assist in the identification of key and high potential employees and collaborate on development plans to increase their organizational impact and provide future talent
The schedule for this position is fully onsite, Monday - Friday.

- BA/BS degree in Human Resources/Labor Relations or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in general HR management and/or a Business Partner role
- Employee relations, labor relations, employee advocacy, and cultural change activities is preferred -OR- equivalent leadership experience or relevant work experience
- Broad knowledge of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Conflict Resolution and Organizational Effectiveness is required
- Familiarity with FMLA, EEO laws, ADA and other employment related State and Federal laws & regulations is required
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate Business Partners' needs and goals and apply HR solutions needed to achieve results
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience in employee development, coaching, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, employee relations, training, and HR project management and program execution
- HR business insight - able to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
- Master's degree or MBA in a Human Resources field
- HR Industry Certification (PHR / SPHR/ SHRM - CP/SCP)
- Relevant business or operational experience
- 1-2 years of operational experience
- Minimum 2 years management/leadership experience
- Previous experience working in and/or leading a unionized work group
