Position Purpose:
• Establish and maintain relationships with respective business units and overall site leadership to stay abreast of current business needs. Establish regular and follow-up meetings with business units and site leadership to determine the effectiveness of business objectives. Attend appropriate leadership meetings to ensure and stay abreast of the business objectives.
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Analyzes trends and metrics of the business units in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
• Manages and resolves complex non-union EMPLOYEE RELATIONS issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, and workforce planning.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
• Provides day to day performance management guidance to front line management (e.g., coaching counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Identifies people-based training (i.e., people management, team building, DEI) for business units and assesses leader accountability/coaching needs
. • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
Education:
B.A. in Human Resources or related field and /or related field is required; masters preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
• Minimum of 8 years of experience resolving complex EMPLOYEE RELATIONS issues.
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
Certifications/Licenses:
• SHRM CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL (SHRM-CP) PREFERRED
