Performs professional compensation and benefit support to all functional areas of Human Resources for Security First Managers (Company) ensuring that compensation and benefits are competitive and meet the needs of all team members. Work involves researching and evaluating all new and existing job requirements, creating and updating job descriptions, salary evaluations, and all company benefits.
Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment based on professional education and previous experience.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and Compensation analysis information for HR management and Leadership
- Research employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the company's existing benefits or policies.
- Works with insurance brokers and investment planners to create competitive, cost-effective benefits packages for the organization; facilitates implementation and enrollment for Benefits and retirement plans.
- Conducts comprehensive analyses of existing compensation structures, including base pay, incentives, bonus structure, and benefits.
- Prepares reports
- Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Advises HR management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, Benefits and Compensation policies
- Conducts employee focus groups to collect feedback on specific issues or topics related to Benefits and Compensation.
- Works with Talent Acquisition Partner in planning and communicating preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees
- Ensures compliance with local and national labor laws and regulations related to HR, compensation and benefits.
- Ensures the organizations and plans compliance with HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA.
- Administers and manages FMLA, STD, ADA, and LTD
- Interprets - terminology, policies, procedures, and rules governing employee Benefits and Compensation; provide guidance in completing required enrollment and verification forms.
- Evaluate new and existing positions by investigating and analyzing position duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate classification and salary levels; conduct job analysis as necessary
- Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Maintains a customer service orientation and positive image of the Company; provides courteous, prompt, and professional approach to exchanging information and resolving issues; adheres to strict confidentiality requirements
- Responds to emergency call-ins for weather incidents, natural disasters, or other critical events
- Maintains positive communication and interaction with Company personnel, representatives from external organizations, and the public

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient in HRIS and ATS systems
- 3-5 years experience in administering compensation and employee benefits
Certifications and Licenses:
- May be required to possess a valid state of Florida driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- HR Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate or Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional (CP) certification or Compensation Certified Professional (CCP)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive Knowledge of current federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations; survey methodology
- Working knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of team members, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures for the preparation, production and maintenance of reports, documentation, and records
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing high quality and efficient customer service
- Skills in mathematics required for the work
- Able to conduct research, analyze information and data and present findings in a concise format
- Proficient use of HRIS, Application Tracking systems (ATS), Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and similar Database Applications
- Skill in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Skill in communicating and understanding information in English, both orally and in writing and ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department and organization specific software and ability to learn and become proficient in the use of other specialized software as may be required
- Ability to apply discretion and appropriate security measures in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to operate with integrity and establish trust in professional relationships and decision-making
- Ability to apply industry knowledge and insights to drive organizational success
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met
- Ability to correctly interpret and efficiently implement all applicable policies and procedures
- Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing, and coordinating
Physical Requirements:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and periods of time standing and/or walking.
Environmental Requirements:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes).
