- Possess working knowledge of all EH&S Work Processes and tools, working knowledge of plant /department operations and processes, and excellent communication skills.
- Can interpret and apply Dow Safety Standards and Policies
- Knowledge of all company H&S requirements for areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate leadership by participating in identification, resolution, and escalation of EH&S opportunities.
- Develop and implement H&S management system (work processes, standards, training material and procedures) as appropriate within areas of responsibility.
- Ensures the H&S aspects of the operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve performance goals.
- Implements detailed, task level, day to day Health and Safety programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain existing H&S programs/ initiatives designed to improve performance (LCS, RTO, housekeeping, etc..)
- Assists in developing and achieving area or plant H&S goals, eliminating injuries, reducing exposures, etc.
- Active participant on the department EH&S team.
- Maintain/ update safety indoctrination materials (Power point, guest in house, hardhat stickers, etc) and deliver as necessary.
- Serves as contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues.
- Coaches’ teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.
- Assists in developing and achieving Turnaround EH&S goals.
- Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
- Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- Previous experience in an operations/manufacturing/or safety role with emphasis on EH&S projects and/or initiatives.
- Lift, push, and pulls.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
- Work in tight and closed in spaces.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
