POSITION DEFINITION:TheElectrocardiograph (ECG) Technician is responsible for performing ECG tests in the Phase I Treatment Room for patients in pre-study, study phase, and post-study. Works closely with Triage, Nursing team, and physicians to provide efficient patient care.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for educating patients on ECG testing procedures, properly positioning patients, electrode application, and judging the quality of ECG tracings.
- Perform 12 lead ECG and ECG rhythm strip at the direction of the ordering provider and protocol. Record electrocardiograms of high quality, free from artifact and distortion.
- Communicate ECG results to providers and team members for continuum of care.
- Receive new protocol ECG machines and supplies and confirm receipt to the sponsor in a timely manner.
- Transmit daily recordings to the correct sponsor and file copies accordingly.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of ECG machines.
- Maintain sufficient supplies for patients on trials.
- Assist in the completion of Trial Queries in a timely manner.
- Support effective use and implementation of CTMS system, EHR system, and other necessary software to ensure appropriate and accurate documentation and data capture of clinic activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Background REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) year of Electrocardiograph Technician experience
- CPR certification.
- CITI GCP training required within 1 month of hire.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and clinical documentation systems.
