Housekeeper

Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned.

Perform cleaning and housekeeping services as requested or assigned, in the kitchen(s), bathroom(s), bedroom(s) or guestroom(s), laundry and storage room(s), office(s), and commons areas to a provide a safe, sanitary and healthy environment for employees, students, and guests.

Reports electrical, mechanical and structural repair work to supervisor in a timely fashion.

Responsible for inventorying, managing and maintaining cleaning and janitorial supplies, linens and china, kitchen and pantry stock and comestibles associated with the property to which the staff member is assigned.

Assists management with keeping property inventories up-to-date.

Oversees and participates in the cleaning of the kitchen to which the staff member is assigned.

Assists management and other departments with setting up and serving at College events and functions held at the property to which the staff member is assigned. This includes serving meals, drinks and providing other wait services.

Receives guests at the door and ensures the proper hospitality and reception of guests as the need dictates.

Assists management with organizing the staffing schedule(s) and cleaning routine for the facility assigned.

Ensure linens are ready for pick-up at designated times and properly labeled for pick-up.

Log and separate damaged linens and report any missing or damaged linens to supervisor.

Maintain proper working condition of washing machines, dryers, presser, and steam cleaner by treating the machines in a responsible manner and by reporting any maintenance concerns.

Responsible for fulfilling all workflow needs.

Maintain the department and keep all shelves clean and orderly.

Ensure all equipment and linens meet college standards.

Will be trained and occasionally asked to assist in the Linen department as needed.
