The Hyatt Place Phoenix/Gilbert is 126 rooms and is centrally located just off the 202 SanTan Freeway and Val Vista Rd. Our hotel caters to all different guests from corporate to leisure and beyond. This affords a unique opportunity to create and forge meangful relationships with our guests and be able to provide them with service and experiences that operate outside the box. We are searching for an enthusiastic, service-focused Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our guest services team. You’ll welcome guests, manage accounts, answer inquiries and field complaints to ensure we deliver an excellent experience to every guest. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage room bookings in-person, online, and through incoming calls, and answer inquiries about guests’ needs, including questions about available rooms, amenities, room rates and special requests
- General bookkeeping: ensure all hotel guest account information is accurate and up-to-date
- Greet, check-in, and check out guests when they arrive and leave the premises, distribute keys and room assignments, and record credit card information
- Communicate with housekeeping to make sure guest rooms are ready and maintenance when an issue is reported
- Field guest complaints when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Absolutely, 100%, must have a friendly and outgoing personality to greet guests as they leave for the day and cheerfully answer phone calls and/or in-person requests
- Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills
- Exhibits working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Opera & other Hyatt systems
- 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, hotel receptionist, or guest service specialist preferred but not required
- Weekend availability is required
- Well-versed in taking telephone calls and handling stressful situations
- Exhibits initiative and self-direction to discover tasks that need to be completed without being told (ie. stocking The Market, straightening lobby, re-stocking supplies at the Front Desk, etc...)
