Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant or hotel
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests
- Take reservations over the phone or through online platforms
- Manage waitlists and ensure efficient table turnover
- Provide accurate wait time estimates to guests
- Communicate with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth service
- Answer phone calls and provide information to callers in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Handle guest complaints or concerns and escalate to management when necessary
Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or hospitality setting is preferred
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or other restaurant management systems is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist guests and provide exceptional service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude
