Position Title: Host-Hostess Reports To: F&B Manager Department: Food & Beverage Employment Dates: Temporary; Dates Range Mid-May - Mid-October Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the F&B Manager, the Host-Hostess is a non-exempt seasonal position responsible for welcoming members and their guests and creating a hospitable dining environment. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club's mission and vision. Responsibilities: Duties shall include but not be limited to: With a friendly and professional demeanour, greets and seats members and guests.
Contributes to creating a warm and welcoming dining environment. Graciously acknowledges and thanks members as they leave, saying goodbye. Politely takes reservations, and in coordination with the F&B Manager and Member Services, manages the reservation book.
Keeps accurate reservation records, cover counts, and ensures the correct seating of servers' sections. Responsible for even cover distribution counts among servers. Learns and remembers members' names and preferences.
Anticipates their wants and needs and coordinates with wait staff to fulfil them. Stays familiar with menu items and their preparation. Attends pre-service meetings and communicates questions, comments and concerns to other staff members to improve the service and experience of the membership.
Works cooperatively with all other food and beverage staff. Assists wait-staff and management with clearing tables, taking cocktail orders, resetting tables, and as needed. Assists with opening and closing shift side work and weekly cleaning.
Helps maintain and organize dining and storage areas. Addresses members' concerns immediately and to their satisfaction. Communicates any problems and potential issues to management.
Observes food serve safe practices and all general Club safety protocols. Participates in required trainings and meetings. Performs other tasks and duties as required.
