Summary
Oversee the day to day operations of the volunteer services. Included in this role, but not limited to: interviews potential volunteers, ensures adequate volunteer coverage and scheduling for departments, coordinates volunteer project requests, coordinates volunteer/recognition events (may include coordinating, facilitating, and documenting the regional recognition program), manages the database, and assists and supports the onboarding, orientation, and exit process of
volunteers.

May help in community fundraising and community awareness. Providing clerical support functions: including, but not limited to: taking minutes, collect nominees, generating reports and spreadsheets, coordinating and scheduling meetings/events, distribution of prizes, and notifying winners. Additional duties include ensuring volunteers remain compliant with our policies and standards through Annual Retraining Education. Facilitate events, and maintains and facilitates communications throughout our organization based on regional location. May contribute and/or hold a position on the advisory board. Adapting and creating new job descriptions for volunteer roles, and then collaborating with medical staff. Create "Letters of Recommendation" for college students, write up quarterly and yearly impact statements (reports sent to site supervisors/ambassadors of hours each site volunteers have contributed, provide data on monetary impact, volunteer statements, acknowledge the impact of workforce development, etc.). For these statements, maintain organized lists of volunteers who have gone on to further med school, graduate school, internships, hired as an employee, etc. Also, manage conflict and act as a liaison between volunteers and staff. This role also, assists with responsibilities of supervising, planning, and directing the scope of the Volunteer Services program to augment the services of the regular staff. Also serves as consultant to other system volunteer programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to use appropriate reference materials. Must be self-directed with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision. Must be able to multi-task, and function as a resource for employees. Must have a high level of customer service, public relations, training and
problem solving skills. Must be able to utilize all office equipment including personal computer and application software, printer, FAX, copier, multi-line telephone system.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post secondary education, preferred.
Two years experience in volunteer work, public relations, community service or promotional work. Leadership capabilities and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Prefer typing skills at 50 wpm.
Depending on location, a valid driver's license may be required.
