The Hospice Aide reports directly to the Director of Patient Care Services and works under the direct supervision of the RN Case Manager and/or Clinical Coordinator to:
- Assist with personal care of patient, i.e. bathing, feeding, bed making, mouth care, vital signs and transferring
- Document properly in patient’s chart.
- Keep Clinical Coordinator/Nurse Case Manager informed of condition of patient/family.
- Observe infection control and safety measures
- Assist with patient/family teaching concerning patient care and care for the caregiver.
- Bereavement activities as requested and/or able.
- Clean and monitor supplies.
- Provide companionship
- Assist with laundry, shopping, light housekeeping, meal preparation and other homemaker tasks
- Attend and participate in staff and patient review meetings.
- Maintain and uphold the Hospice Code of Ethics
- Work as an effective Infinity Hospice Care Group member.
Must be a graduate of a state certified Nurse’s Aide training program and in good
standing with the State Board of Nursing in the state of licensure.
- Experience with death or dying patients is helpful.
- Current driver’s license, auto insurance and a dependable means of transportation required.
