Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
The Temporary Horticulture Research Assistant will assist the Small Farms Unit Manager and CEFS Unit staff at N.C. A&T State University NCDA –Cherry Research Farm located at 604 Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27530 . The Temporary Horticulture Research Assistant will conduct activities necessary to complete applied high tunnel and small field research projects and on-farm demonstrations funded by the Cooperative Extension.
Duties includes:
High tunnel field preparation, transplanting, weeding, trellising, irrigation and fertigation, harvesting, and data collection.

High tunnel management such as opening and closing high tunnels, weeding and mowing the premises of projects, and high tunnel repairs.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Small Farm Unit in Goldsboro, North Carolina is part of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) that is a partnership of North Carolina State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
