REMOTE WORK: Yes, residency in the Chicago area preferred.

BILINGUAL REQUIRED: English/Spanish (speak, read and write fluently)

TRAVEL REQUIRED: 50% (Nationally)

SALARY: $70K - 75,000/annually

OVERVIEW

In this role, the Home Study (HS) Caseworker will be responsible for conducting time-sensitive and thorough HS assessments of potential placement for Unaccompanied Children (UC). The HS assessment process includes conducting background interviews, performing home assessments, and analyzing case information.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct time-sensitive and thorough Home Study assessments for potential placements for children, including background interviews, home assessment, and case analysis.

  • Carry a case minimum caseload of 5 cases, services are provided virtually and in person.

  • Maintain a high standard of record-keeping according to Applied Intellect and ORR policies and procedures.??

  • Assess the safety and appropriateness of the potential placement using child welfare principles and social work best practices through phone/video calls, interviews, and home visits.

  • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.

  • Participate in regular training and communication sessions with supervisor and headquarters staff and

  • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.

  • Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information in keeping with HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) requirements.

  • Must maintain confidentiality in all program areas including information regarding youth.

  • Participate in regular training and communication sessions utilizing Teams, Zoom or other platforms required for meeting with peers, supervisor, and headquarters staff.

  • Submit case notes, assessments and reports timely as required by ORR and Applied Intellect using ORR?s documentation software and Applied Intellect?s internal software system used for case monitoring, maintenance, and storage.

  • Display professional conduct and ensure respectful interactions during any contact with children, sponsors, coworkers, supervisors, ORR representatives, and other vendors or community members.

  • Will provide support to Post Release Services by providing trauma-informed, intensive, and comprehensive case management to unaccompanied children and their families based on need and availability.

  • Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, a behavioral science, or social services field with a minimum of three years? progressive experience in the field of social services, case management, child welfare.

  • Experience in child welfare, child placements, family preservation and social service provision is desired.

  • Must be skilled at writing professional, thorough assessment reports.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a clean driving record.

  • Position requires up to 50 percent long distance travel with limited notice.

  • The position is remote, and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, phone calls, and video conferencing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including using Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams for maintaining contact with supervisor, coworkers, and to complete daily tasks.

  • Ability to type and be computer literate. Comfortable with using a tablet/iPad, or laptop to complete daily assignments.

  • Fluency in Spanish is required, proficiency in additional languages a plus.

  • Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirement for child abuse and neglect.

  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes history of conviction of child and sexual abuse.

  • Possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory completion of Applied Intellect?s Orientation and Training.

  • Satisfactory completion of ORR required trainings prior to serving clients.

  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;

  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;

  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and

  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
