Title:Home Study and Post Release Services Regional Manager I

Location: 1 spot Texas/Southeast and 1 spot National Wide

Shift: Monday to Friday (8:30am- 5:00pm) Remote home visit observations some travel required

Summary:
The SAFEty Initiatives programs provides residential services for unaccompanied minors as well as Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPR) for children ranging in age from infants to seventeen years old who have entered the country without documents and without their parents. This position will provide regional oversight, coordination and consultation for both HHCS and the national network case management staff in an assigned region through coordination with ORR and GDIT and supervision of Home Study recommendation and Post Release service provision. Local and out of state travel for the purpose of conducting home visits and monitoring visits will be required.

Essential Functions:
Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises case management staff and their work, including performance management and training, and ensures the timeliness and quality of their work
• Coordinates case management services of the Home Study and Post Release team in a designated region, and trains and supervises the case management staff.
• Makes recommendations for hiring, promotions, terminations and work assignments of case management staff
• The Regional Manager, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Specialist and Training Specialist, conducts annual monitoring of the national network, issuing Corrective Action Plans, as well as, providing technical assistant in keeping with accepted child welfare standards and social work practices.
• Maintains a small caseload when needed in an assigned region, which will require both local and out of state travel for purposes of conducting home visits
• Coordinates referrals and service planning in relevant areas
• Ensures the implementation of organization, division and program policies and procedure
• Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior and general conditions that could impact the safety of a participant
• Builds and maintains relationships with community services providers in multiple states in the Central and Eastern part of the US, and monitor their service provision according to the terms of their agreements
• Completes regular case management and staffing meetings
• Maintains accurate records and consistently ensure the confidentiality of information relevant to UCs and their cases
• Maintains accurate records of Post Release Services including measurable outcomes and reasoning behind termination of services
• Submits required reports and documentation in a timely manner
• Provides crisis intervention when necessary, including involving Child Protective Services.
• Actively pursues professional development opportunities such as workshops and education programs
• Participates in regular supervision meetings with immediate supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable): Home Study and Post Release Regional Case Managers

Education and Experience:
Master’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, and demonstrated leadership abilities, is required. Experience in family reunification, home assessment, or foster care/child welfare is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):

• Language Skills: Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
• Other: Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Ability to travel independently throughout relevant region. Ability to work independently and during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends. Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Work Arrangement:
This role is eligible for a “remote” work arrangement. In-person meetings may be required on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, etc.). If working remotely, access to a private and quiet space is required. There is also availability to work from office work spaces as needed. In-state and out-of-state travel will be required.

• Ability to effectively operate and utilize a computer.
• Must be able to work longer hours based on departmental needs.
