Our highly respected orthopedic practice is searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a keen interest in physical therapy, as well as a commitment to patient care. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of physical therapy and will work under the supervision of the orthopedic surgeon as well as the Physical Therapist, including charting patient progress, running tests and preparing patients for surgery. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in treating patients with orthopedic injuries and disabilities, including geriatrics and adults with chronic illnesses.
Responsibilities:
- Refer patients to a Physical Therapist when necessary.
- Assist with the preparation of patients for Physical Therapist examination or treatment.
- Assist with physical therapy treatment as instructed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist with patient evaluation and discharge planning, as directed by Physical Therapists.
- Communicate with other health professionals, following rules of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Take and record patients' vital signs and other required information.
- Work under the leadership of a supervising Physical Therapist.
