Position Description
The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager will manage multiple Information Technology Projects to ensure that all are successfully delivered. The IT Project Manager is essential to the success of the IT team and IIR by acting as the liaison between the IT development team and IIR program groups (business units) to ensure that Web and application development and design projects, as well as maintenance tasks, are completed successfully. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to foster multiple technical projects from conception to implementation while communicating with project stakeholders and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate IT and internal client resources to deliver IT development and design projects on time and within scope
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Work with IT management and other IT Project Managers to ensure resource availability and allocation
- Monitor and track project progress and manage project risk
- Manage changes to the project scope and project schedule and communicate those changes with relevant stakeholders
- Provide input for release planning using team capacity and developer skill set information
- Prepare for and facilitate project team meetings in accordance with Scrum project management methodology
- Facilitate product demonstrations, when appropriate, with relevant stakeholders
- Provide updates and escalate issues to management as necessary
- Create and maintain documentation, as appropriate, to meet the needs of the project
- Work with IT management to ensure that projects meet technical architecture requirements and align with organizational goals
- Assist internal clients with utilizing technical resources available to them to meet project objectives
- Seek flexible and innovative ways to meet project objectives
- Other duties, as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, and/or Application Developer preferred
- Four years of project management experience with a bachelor's degree or a combination of appropriate post-high school education and relevant experience equal to eight years
- Organized and able to manage multiple technical project teams at one time
- Experience with Scrum project management methodology
- Able to effectively communicate with technical and nontechnical staff
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to go beyond normal responsibilities to make IIR successful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong customer service skills
