THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager Home will set the tone for the store team and help bring our brand to life for our customers and employees. Your leadership role in creating an elevated selling culture is critical in supporting the execution of the brand and store strategy. In your role, you support bringing the BR aesthetic to life through strong Home execution and powerful story telling. You are a developer of building brand recognition for Home and ensuring that every clients experience meets their expectation. Our goal is to provide long lasting impressions that will stimulate interests and create memorable experiences that continue to raise the bar and exceed our customer’s Life+Style needs. Through collaboration with your GM and your Home team, your goal is to teach others and coach behaviors to cultivate a high performance that meets or exceeds goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- All leaders are expected to become experts of the brand's selling behaviors, leading and leveraging these behaviors with every customer who walks through our doors allowing us to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Recruit, hire and develop a Home furnishing team to drive a culture of high performance and engagement
- Accountable for team performance through teaching, coaching and providing meaningful feedback to build capabilities
- Ensure brand is brought to life through refined aesthetics and merchandising
- Represent the brand and understand the competition and home furnishings landscape
- Demonstrated values and behaviors amplify our Words to Live by
- Create an inclusive environment through meaningful and authentic connections
- Promote community involvement SKILLS NEEDED
- Provides clear and direct communication of expectations and gives feedback while listening to learn in order to unlock personal and business results
- Proven success in elevated selling culture and experience leveraging clienteling behaviors • Strength in driving metrics to deliver results that will meet or exceed business goals
- Flexible to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have previous experience in a premium or luxury retail environment with home furnishings
- A current or former home retail employee with 3-5 years of retail management experience • A hands-on leader who thrives on the energy and excitement of the client interaction
- A champion for Gap Inc culture
