The position, under the limited supervision of the County Engineer, is responsible for performing intermediate technical work conducting both field and office engineering work, surveying project sites, performing research, drawing plans and preparing maps. Essential duties of this position are to lead the survey crew in performing topographic, cross section, bridge and ditch surveys, including fieldwork using GPS and to provide certified inspections while representing the County in the inspection of road and bridge projects. Knowledge of surveying and civil engineering, principles, procedures and techniques is preferred.
The Highway Engineering Technician II is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. The salary range is $26.28-$36.39 per hour. Starting wage will depend on experience. Health insurance and pension benefits are also offered.
