Description: Looking for motivated and enthusiastic team players to fill a Spanish teaching position at the Moffat County High School.
Job Summary: To help students learn how to communicate and understand the Spanish language. Help develop skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.
*Salary: Teacher salary is commensurate with education and teaching experience. $42,600 - $65,113/year
Education and/or Experience: Minimum requirement - Bachelor's degree(B.A.) from a four year college or university. Works well with a team, good communication skills, dependable.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible or already in possession of a Colorado Teaching License/certificate endorsed in the area of assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals-established clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials (including field trips) that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Diagnose the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.
  • Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
  • Assists the administration implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignment of teacher aides and/or volunteers, and cooperatively with the principal evaluates their job performance.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs and serves on staff committees as required.
  • Maintains records and makes such reports as required and directed by the administration.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The employee supervises students in the class, parents and volunteers.

Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to run; stoop and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. The employee must occasionally push items of 75lbs. or more, such as pushing children on a bike or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
