General Responsibilities:

The Castle Rock School District would like to announce the opening of a High School Math Teacher position for the 2024-25 school year. The position will teach math which will include Algebra and Geometry. Candidates must hold the proper Washington State endorsement/license.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $54,221 - $102,194

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

1. Plan and implement a program of study following state and district standards that meet the individual needs and abilities of the students by providing effective, differentiated instruction using research-based practices.
2. Implement instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for achieving stated objectives for instruction and student success, including use of technology.
3. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum student outcomes.
4. Participate with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to meet the needs of students in all curriculum areas.
5. Educate special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with other staff.
6. Create a classroom environment that is safe and conductive to learning for all students.
7. Participate with other staff to cooperatively develop effective, positive techniques for improving student behavior.
8. Participate in State, Federal and District testing requirements.
9. Provide positive supports and guidance to a diverse population.
10. Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and an optimal learning environment.
11. Assess students' academic learning and/or skills for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals.
12. Maintain accurate, complete, confidential, and timely records as required by law, District Policy, and Administrative Regulations including attendance, IEP information, progress reports, cumulative records, and classroom inventory.
13. Confer with colleagues, administrators, students and/or parents when necessary.
14. Collaborate with school personnel and parents for the purpose of improving the quality of student performance, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
15. Become familiar with and uphold the enforcement of school rules, Administrative Regulations and Board Policy.
16. Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude when carrying out responsibilities as a faculty member.
17. Perform assigned out-of-classroom supervision and other duties.
18. Participate in staff meetings, planning events, and grade level/department/PLC meetings.
19. Participate in total building program, including assemblies, contests, and other student activities.
20. Engage in ongoing professional development.

1. Fulfill all other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree, valid Washington State teaching certificate with Math endorsement.

10. Sets appropriate expectations for individual students.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

1. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the designated grade level preferred.
2. ELL endorsement.

1. Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. This position may be exposed to prolonged exposure to visual display terminals as required.
2. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
3. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions and intense noises.
