Ocosta School District is now accepting applications for a Jr/Sr HS Math Teacher. The position is 1 FTE for the 2024/25 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Various Math Courses (grades 7-8, 9-12, or 7-12). The instructor should have the ability to plan instructional programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. The instructor will also provide a productive learning environment. Knowledge/experience with new state assessment requirements and Washington State standards is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Plan and implement effective lessons, using time, materials, and resources effectively.
- Effectively communicate students' progress to student, parent, and others as appropriate.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups to improve student behavior and success, if necessary.
- Motivate students through effective communication and evaluative feedback.
- Display a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
- Demonstrate awareness of the needs of students and provide for individual differences.
- Set high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with others.
- Establish and maintain a positive climate for learning through appropriate classroom management.
- Participate in school or district activities, meetings, and conferences as required.
- Observe district policies and procedures.
- Ensure all activities conform to district guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with members of the district and community.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Direct activities of non-certificated personnel, as needed.
- Establish and maintain appropriate standards for classroom behavior to provide a supportive and productive learning environment.

Salary Rate Range $55,679-$104,947/year DOE and OEA Salary Schedule
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.
- Valid Washington State Secondary Teaching certificate with proper endorsement(s).
- Experience in teaching at the high school level preferred.
- Successful completion of WSP/FBI fingerprint background check.
