POSITION DESCRIPTION
The IT Help Desk is the first point of contact for coworkers experiencing IT issues. The Technician assists coworkers in resolving and/or troubleshooting IT problems over the phone, in person, or via e-mail. The IT Help Desk Technician works on projects that range from setting up new users to implementing new technologies organizationally.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Acts as first level of technical support for Taylor Shellfish Farms staff.
- Responsible for addressing customer inquiries via email (trouble-tickets), phone and walk-ins.
- Escalates complex computer issues and networking specific hardware (firewalls, Virtual Machines, etc.) to IT Manager.
- Maintain passwords, data integrity, and system security for the desktop environment.
- Simulate or recreate user issues to better understand and resolve reported problems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, zebra printers and other peripherals such as Wi-Fi and industry specific applications.
- Build, maintain and install desktop/laptop images for a various range of computer system models.
- Perform preventative maintenance, testing, and repair of computer hardware.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize outstanding issues.
- Identify the nature of the issue and appropriate escalation team(s).
- Follow established procedures on daily work, occasionally utilizing best judgment when applicable.
- May be required to work at other work sites/locations as needed.
- May be required to do other tasks as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- 2 years of IT Help Desk or related technical experience.
- Working knowledge of PC hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and software products.
- Basic understanding of networking and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lift up to 30 lbs, with or without assistance on occasion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when necessary for special installations, implementations, and upgrades.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction.
- Experience with mobile device configurations and troubleshooting

The position will be based in our Shelton location, covering the King county locations and supporting other locations as needed.
