Mental Health Direct Care Professionals
(Residential Services Technician)
Ray House
Pay Rate: $20.50/hour
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking aMental Health Direct Care Professionals (Residential Services Technician) to join our Ray House residential program.
The Helen Winslow Ray House Residential Program, with a capacity of eight residents, provides trauma-informed treatment and support services to adults living with mental illness. Often our clients have co-occurring conditions, such as chronic health problems and/or substance use disorders.
The Residential Services Technician positions provide direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting. As a Direct Care worker and Mental Health support specialist, you will:
  • provide personal support and supportive counseling to our residents
  • be part of a clinical team utilizing the tasks of daily living as instrumental treatment components while also helping to create a sense of permanency with a home like environment
  • contribute to identifying needs or emerging needs, physical and Mental Health wellbeing, medication administration, personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management
  • contribute to maintaining a clean and organized facility and in maintaining staff office, charts and documentation.

These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings, and participate in other meetings as necessary. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Coordinator.
Schedule: Full-time, 40hours/week position.
Various schedules available. Specific schedule availability will be discussed with the program during an interview.
These positions vary with hours. The program operates on a 24 hour/day, 7 days a week basis. Willingness to have availability on weekends/holidays is required.
Location: Onsite in South Portland, ME
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training in Mental Health preferred.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Flexible schedule is required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must pass CNA registry check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.

***This role is required by the State of Maine to have proof of immunization or documented immunity against rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella (German measles), varicella (chicken pox), hepatitis B (optional), and influenza. Medical exemption may be accommodated with a written statement from a licensed medical professional. The Agency may assist with obtaining vaccines or proof of immunity if needed.
