D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Help Desk Technician. The right candidate will be responsible for all IT support activities related to end user hardware, Software and other IT related issues. Includes, but is not limited to imaging systems, working hardware and software tickets, and processing in and out of warranty repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Research and resolve hardware and software application issues
- Document and track the details of the issue, status and resolution, using the Help Desk tracking application
- Communicate and follow-up with the user while working the issue and ensure successful and timely completion of the issue
- Administer user accounts for several different computer systems
- Complete work order fully documenting each step of the troubleshooting process
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Aid with division office and corporate moves
- Support special projects
- Work with external vendors
- Ability to work overtime
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Zero to two years related experience and/or training
- Must be able to work in a computer data center and warehouse environment around several network and running computers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
- Work in an environment where the noise level is generally moderate, but subject to loud noise level in data center
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A or similar certification a plus
- Experience with Windows Current Version is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Current Version is a plus
- Microsoft Active Directory experience is a plus
