Job description

Position: Help Desk Support 
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 1 Year

Summary: The Associate Consultant is responsible for providing on-site technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and assisting with IT-related tasks. This role requires advanced knowledge of Windows and Apple macOS systems, as well as expertise in troubleshooting complex technical problems.

Responsibilities:

User Support:

  • Provide on-site support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Respond to and resolve Help Desk tickets using IT service management tools.
  • Assist users with login problems, password resets, and account management.

Hardware and Software Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and perform repairs or replacements when necessary.

Network Connectivity:

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, both wired and wireless.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining network printers and other peripherals.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Document hardware and software configurations.

Training and Guidance:

  • Provide basic training to end-users on software applications and IT best practices.
  • Offer guidance on using technology resources efficiently.

Security:

  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems and data.
  • Ensure antivirus software and security patches are up to date.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to resolve complex issues.
  • Escalate problems to appropriate personnel when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or a degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Deskside Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and common software applications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in Business or Computer Science.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
