Jymco Construction is looking an experienced and dependable Excavator Operators for our Utility Crew. Our work consist of laying water, sewer and storm drain utility improvements. in central North Carolina region.
Job Description:
As the Excavator Operator, you will report to job site Foreman for daily job duties. You will be responsible various tasks specific to the job production. Operating various equipment to complete a pipe project, and working hands on.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate Heavy equipment for the Utility (Pipe) Crew. Excavator operator experience is required.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
- Locate underground services, such as pipes and wires, prior to beginning work.
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
- Complete previous projects or receive new project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
Physical Demands:
- Constant physical effort, must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required
- Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 20 pounds and, at times, as much as 50 pounds, as may be assigned
- Physical dexterity involving stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment
- Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
