Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and vehicles to assist in construction and other projects. This is a contracted position.

Duties:

- Operate and maintain various types of Heavy Equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, off road trucks, smooth drum roller, etc. to excavate, move and grade earth.

-Operate compact equipment as needed (skid steer, mini excavator, etc.) - Use equipment to build and dig trenches, excavate land, transport materials, and perform other construction tasks- Follow safety protocols and ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget

Requirements & Qualifications:

-Must be a minimum of 18 years old

-Valid driver’s license, preferred- Proven experience operating Heavy Equipment

- Must have good work ethic and be dependable

- Must have regular and predictable attendance

- Knowledge of proper equipment operation techniques and safety procedures

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of outdoor work in various weather conditions.

-Strong verbal communication skills to interact with other workers on the job site.

Position requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and Heavy Equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Clayton, NC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
