Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and vehicles to assist with construction and maintenance projects. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
We are an established excavation, concrete, & paving company looking for highly skilled, dedicated, and motivated Heavy Equipment Operators. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy construction and excavation equipment. Applicant must be able to hold line and grade. Applicants are responsible to grease and clean their equpiment daily to ensure a professional and safe environment. Applicant must be able to understand basic layout and understand the difference between tenths/inches. Applicant must have a general understanding of underground utility installations for storm, sewer, water, gas, and electric/comm. Applicant must be willing to labor when the need arises as this position is non-union. Applicant must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Applicant must be able to commute to project sites throughout Connecticut. Applicant must be able to work M-Fri, 7am-4pm. Applicant must be able to work OT & Saturdays as required when needed. Applicant must be trainable, receptive, adaptable, able to recieve direction, and able to recieve constructive criticism as applicable. Applicant must be able to pass drug & alcohol screening and background check. Pay based on experience, attitude, willingness, and work ethic. Health, dental, & vision insurances offered after 90 days. 401K and paid vacation offered as well.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various types of Heavy Equipment, including front loader trucks, bulldozers, roll-off trucks, tankers, dump trucks, farm machinery, and Caterpillar equipment
- Perform tasks such as digging, loading/unloading materials, transporting equipment, and building structures
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Adhere to project specifications and blueprints to meet quality standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating Heavy Equipment in a construction or similar environment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of equipment operation techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
