Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Requirements

• Heavy equipment repair experience
• Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Caterpillar dozers, excavators, haul trucks, articulated trucks, and loaders
• Must have an understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of current emission systems
• Able to weld and fabricate
• Comfortable with technology and navigating screens on equipment
• Must be able to operate forklifts, loaders with forks and skid steers for loading and unloading trucks and moving parts
• Perform regular maintenance and understand oil types in compartment oil needs
• Able to lift up to 90 pounds

Shift information

• Monday – Friday, 12-hour days
• Option to work 10 hours on Saturdays
• Overtime after 8hrs every day

Additional

• Must be part of or willing to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302
• Clean Criminal Record: Upon an offer, all candidates must be able to pass a Background Check
• All travel and living expenses for non-local candidates are at the employee’s expense

Project Information

Over the next four years, the primary contractor Kiewit Infrastructure and various contracting partners will complete an array of tasks, such as excavation, asphalt paving, utility piping, laying of electrical and communication lines, and batching and placing concrete, to name a few.

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
