The Solution Engineer Executive Director is responsible for consulting with healthcare clients, defining product strategy, demonstrating technical, market, and product expertise, and generating the project charter to establish consensus and transition smoothly from sales into project execution. A superior ability to understand people and organizations is required to deliver effective solutions to the problems faced in today's healthcare payments industry. A key focus area for this role will be on payments solutions in the life sciences industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics).
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a healthcare solutions consultant for J.P. Morgan's healthcare clients, particularly in the life sciences industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics)
- Establish product strategy based on assessment of product-market fit in collaboration with J.P. Morgan Healthcare Payments organization peers
- Effectively articulate current state industry problems, inefficiencies, and user experience across market constituents
- Evangelize how J.P. Morgan Healthcare Payments people, process, and technology solve complex healthcare payments problems across environments for stakeholders at all levels of the customer's organization
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations in collaboration with J.P. Morgan deal teams
- Guide customer expectations to implement solution features using best practices and industry experience through project chartering process as a lead-in to implementation
- Work closely with sales, implementation, and product teams within J.P. Morgan Healthcare Payments and across the firm to develop and align on solution design that meets customer business and technical requirements
- Analyze and deliver customer-sponsored product change requests via statement of work process
- Serve as a leader on the Solution Engineering team and within the broader Healthcare Payments organization, guiding the continued growth and development of solutions and driving internal process improvements
- Support on-site customer sales meetings as required, up to 20%
- Perform any other duties as applicable to the position
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- 12+ years of experience in healthcare or payments industry in a consulting, product delivery, or enterprise implementation role, with at least some of this time in the life sciences industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics)
- Life sciences industry business-to-consumer payments experience a plus
- Knowledge of core healthcare technology systems and EDI a plus
- Excellent analytical strategic thinking and communication skills
- Demonstrated curiosity and tenacity for solving complex business problems through technology
- Effective at managing expectations, time, priorities and getting things done
- Bachelor's degree or higher
