We are currently recruiting for Executive Director, U.S. Commercial Leader for HIV.

HIV is a franchise that consists of 3 inline products plus an active research pipeline. For more than 35 years, our company has been committed to scientific research and discovery (R&D) in HIV. Today, we are developing a series of antiviral options to help people manage HIV and protect people from HIV, with the goal of reducing the growing burden of infection worldwide. We remain committed to working hand-in-hand with our partners in the global HIV community to address the complex challenges that impede progress toward ending the epidemic.

The Executive Director, US Commercial Leader for the HIV Portfolio is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of US Pharma Business. The Executive Director will be responsible for driving the commercial success of in-market products and ensuring the successful launch of late-stage products in development. This role is an exciting opportunity to help patients and have a material impact on our company's efforts to bring critical, innovative products that save and improve lives for people living with HIV. This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize the potential of innovative treatment options for patients living with HIV.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy for the HIV portfolio, working collaboratively across the enterprise to ensure commercialization success, secure competitive advantage, and drive business growth.

  • Product Launch and Lifecycle Management: Oversee the successful launch of late stage products by aligning cross functional teams to develop effective launch plans, market positioning, and commercialization strategies. Manage the lifecycle of in-market products, identifying opportunities for growth.

  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay updated on the evolving HIV market landscape, including market trends, competitor activities, pricing dynamics, and regulatory changes.  Leverage customer insights and data and analytics to identify market opportunities, assess competitive positioning, and make data-driven decisions for the HIV portfolio.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, R&D, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to ensure alignment and effective execution of commercial plans. Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that drives cross-functional integration and supports the success of the HIV portfolio.

  • Policy & Key Stakeholder Management: Engage policy team to identify relevant policy levers to support portfolio access. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the HIV community, such as patient organizations, advocacy groups, and opinion leaders in the HIV field. Represent the company and the HIV portfolio at conferences, meetings, and industry events.

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring professional development opportunities within the team. Foster a high-performing team and culture of inclusivity. Lead by example, setting expectations, and promoting a positive work environment.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • Advanced Degree Preferred (e.g. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, etc.)

 
Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry

  • Proven track record of successful product launches and commercialization of pharmaceutical products.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire, motivate and align cross-functional teams.

  • Strong collaboration skills, both within commercial teams and across enterprise

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to influence cross functional leadership.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities.

  • People management experience and demonstrated ability to develop team members and direct reports

  • Ability to work in a hybrid setting (i.e. 2 to 3 days per week in office)

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of brands and provide above brand guidance, including P&L management.

  • Experience in HIV, infectious diseases or other specialty disease areas

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
