SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the VP Nursing & Clinical Operations this position will work directly with providers and clinical staff to optimize their utilization of the Practice Management System and related workflows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop subject matter expertise in athenahealth’s core products and services, including practice management, patient engagement and the E H R. Become a Superuser for electronic health record system.
- Assist with training, compliance and workflows directly related to all the front office duties in ambulatory care settings.
- This position will provide in-office and remote training and optimization for new and existing employees on current practices and standards of care.
- Independently assessing and delivering customer specific trainings and improvements with a patient service-oriented mindset.
- Perform site visits to conduct education, training and orientation sessions for providers and ancillary staff.
- Identify opportunities and solve problems with assigned clinical practices, interacting with other department managers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional areas (e.g., revenue cycle, practice performance management) to create and distribute educational materials regarding Athena, clinical updates, and common issues
- Own strategic and operational initiatives in the market that relate to the job scope
- Unify standards across multiple health care practices
- Assess opportunities and risks during and after implementation of new practices and provide a custom action plan
- Establish working relationships and collaborate with providers and office staff
- Generate call and visit reports daily and document all division encounters on Unified site rounding sheets
- Assist with maintenance of user and Athena configurations
- Plan for and participate in events such as Committee Meetings, Networking Events and Educational Sessions that may fall outside of normal business hours
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate or Bachelor degree with 5 years of healthcare clinical and management experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current RN license in good standing in the State of Illinois; CPR certification.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Documentation of experience applying the nursing process including, assessment, planning and intervention
- Current driver’s license
- Current auto insurance
- Ability to work late evening hours
- Ability to work some weekend hours
- Ability to work some holidays
- Ability to travel to and work at other clinics as needed
