- Administers first aid and contacts parents of ill or injured students
- Performs health care procedures which may include first aid, toileting, diapering, catheterization, insulin or other injections, and other duties as may be deemed necessary
- Administers medications to students consistent with District policies and student IEPs
- Makes arrangements to transport ill or injured students to the hospital or their home when the nurse is not in the building
- Maintains records and files
- Inputs and extracts information from a computer
- Provides clerical assistance related to the Health Office
- Obtains and prepares materials and information
- Attends school and nursing staff meetings and trainings when requested
- Assists in the organization of, and, as appropriate, the administration of health screenings
- Provides information and materials to the nurse, staff, students, and parents
- Attends inservice and training programs
- Attends IEP meetings, as directed
- Ability to identify symptoms and follow appropriate health service protocols
- Ability to participate in first aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and medication administration training and other trainings as needed and provided by the District

One full-time Health Office Assistant to work 7hrs per day, Monday through Friday on a 186 day calendar. This position will float throughout the district on a daily basis based on district needs. Responsible for assisting with general Health Office coverage and performing related medical tasks. Licensed RN or LPN required.
