Position has flexible hours, mainly 8:00a-4:30p with on-call EOW.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure that Health Services are in compliance with Hope Haven's policies, state and federal regulations.
2. Ensure that Health Services policies are in adherence to CARF and CMS Standards.
3. Develop and maintain Health Services policies and procedures manual.
4. Support the consulting psychiatrist's schedule and duties relating to those services; complete accurate documentation including transcribing orders, medication administration and nursing notes.
5. Provide/arrange staff training as necessary: Residential Attendant, Infection Control, Med Manager, CPR, and Safety In-services, and others as determined by the Safety Committee.
6. Provide emergency and first aid care as needed.
7. Supervise the administration of medication across all Hope Haven; maintain and conduct reviews of health records and services, per standards or regulations, via records or direct observation.
8. Obtain prior authorizations of medications as required.
9. Attend or provide appropriate information for client team meetings.
10. Provide on-call assistance as scheduled.
11. Follow all safety procedures and promote safety measures across all Hope Haven.
12. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
13. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to apply first aid procedures.
2. Ability to drive.
3. Ability to be mobile.
4. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current and maintenance of Iowa L.P.N. or R.N. License.
2. Experience preferred in the area of disabilities and mental health.
3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
4. Ability to prioritize, organize and carry out work tasks, in the form of either oral or written directions.
5. Demonstrated ability to train staff.
6. Possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
7. Up-to-date physical with approved health status to work.
8. Clearance from a criminal background check and abuse reporting check at time of hire and DOT annually.
9. Negative drug screening.
