Description
Hennepin County's Human Resources department is seeking a Health and Wellness Manager. This position oversees the Total Rewards section that administers employee Health and Wellness programs including medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision benefits, Flexible Spending Account, COBRA benefits administration, Trade Time for Fitness, employee assistance program, the annual health incentive, wellness trainings and activities, and the employee wellness platform.

Location and hours:
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
- Develop goals and objectives for both the Health Benefits and the Wellness programs, utilizing internal and external data to define tasks that link healthcare utilization and Wellness activities that are inclusive and diverse.
- Lead programs’ strategic planning and workplan development, ensuring alignment with the HR Strategic Plan and Total Rewards strategies and workplans.
- Develop, recommend, and implement health benefits and Wellness policies, including plan coverage and design, with input of benefits consultant and County Attorneys’ Office.
- Develop and present Health and Wellness benefits information to administration, leadership, labor management, and other internal groups.
- Ensure county employees, their families, and retirees receive effective and timely customer service.
- Lead vendor relationship efforts, including Request For Proposal (RFP) processes, contracting, Board Action Recommendation (BAR) development, performance management, financial and contract terms accountability.
- Monitor self-insurance and Wellness programs’ budgets in coordination with leadership and Office of Budget and Finance.
- Select, train, and support Health & Wellness staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources necessary to facilitate benefits coverage and Wellness programs.
- Coordinate with Labor Relations, Office of Budget and Finance, benefits consultant, and Labor Management for meeting planning, consensus, and communications.
- Oversee large projects with countywide impact, including open enrollment and health benefits operations and communications.
- Ensure federal and state legal reporting requirements are completed on time.
- Serve on HR leadership teams.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Nine or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, public health, or other field appropriate to the position and five or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.
