Another Source's client, Habitat for Humanity, is recruiting a Chief Financial Officerto join their team in Seattle, WA (Renton).

Founded in 1986 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Habitat for Humanity Seattle - King County has served more than 2,000 families in King County through affordable home construction and preservation, beginning with our very first home in Carnation.
Since then, Habitat SKC has brought together thousands of community members each year to become part of the solution to our affordable housing need. Habitat SKC is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, renovating and preserving homes, advocating for fair and just housing policies, and providing training and access to resources to help individuals and families improve their shelter conditions.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000 DOE.
Summary:
The CFO is a strategic and collaborative partner to the Senior Leadership Team, optimizing the financial planning and accounting practices of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for overall business activities. Modeling our core values to lead with service, respect all people, build community, and deliver results, the CFO is an effective communicator, up and down the organization, and is responsible for hiring, retaining, and developing a team of finance and accounting professionals by focusing on excellent service; reliable, proactive, and accurate practice; collaborative partnerships; risk mitigation; and operational efficiencies. The CFO owns the internal control functions and is responsible for all compliance with Federal, State, and local tax compliance for a non-profit organization.
What you will be doing:
  • Oversee and direct cash flow projections, treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, long range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization.
  • Synthesize information into concise presentations and reports to convey financial information to the CEO, Senior Leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Team and Finance Committee members, coordinate presentations, and monthly reporting to Board.
  • Oversee the implementation of the new ERP system, with a focus on data accuracy, financial reporting, and cost management.
  • Ensure optimal use of the ERP system to support strategic financial planning, efficiency, and process improvement, and ensure data security.
  • Lead the Finance / Accounting team toward cohesion, knowledge transfer, strong business and financial acumen, understand support model, implement performance metrics.
  • Formalize succession planning and career pathways for finance/accounting.
  • Work with the Director of Finance and software providers to provide computer application systems and programs necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Oversee and/or prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Appraise the organization's financial position and issue periodic reports on Habitat's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Direct and coordinate the establishment of budget programs. Reviews budget proposals and prepares necessary supporting documentation of annual operating budget for approval.
  • Coordinate preparation of organization's annual 990 Tax return, ensure it is approved by BOD and filed on a timely basis.
  • Manage A-133 audits and local, state, and federal grant compliance.
  • Advise senior leaders on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and arrange for annual audits of Financial Statements.
  • Oversee Director of Information Technology to ensure all IT assets meet organization and cyber security requirements.
  • Oversee preparation and/or prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for all accounting policies, including the policy to establish and maintain a reserve.
  • Oversee analysis of studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
  • Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole organization and determine their financial impact.
  • Find, create, evaluate, engage, and develop business partnership opportunities.
  • Build relationships with contacts at banks and other financial institutions to source bank financing and community development funds for business activities.
  • Exhibit executive presence, including under pressure and/or under tight deadlines.

What we'd like to see from you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience with at least 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Industries experience with construction, retail, or non-profit organizations a plus.
  • Should have experience partnering with the executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:
CPA or Certified Management Accountant certification preferred.
