Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Sealants Training Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and instruction of the Sealants and Restoration training program that coincides with industry organization standards such as SWRI, FCIA, and ICRI. The training program will encompass the field scopes of joint sealants, waterproofing, firestopping and concrete restoration. This person reports directly to the VP of the Division.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and implement Sealant, Waterproofing, and Restoration Institute (SWRI) validated training programs/manuals for joint sealants and waterproofing.

  • Implement FCIA (Firestop Contractors International Association) training to certify firestop installers.


  • Coordinate with ABAA training center to certify installers through ABAA.

  • Develop and implement internal training program for concrete restoration in concert with ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute) standards.

  • Conduct training in individualized and group settings to set work performance standards.

  • Meet with operations and field management to make recommendations and implement new training and SOP methodologies.

  • Support and partner with subject matter experts regarding instructional design of the training program.


  • Develop a tracking mechanism for all field certifications and keep the records up to date.

  • Develop a working knowledge of scopes, systems, and products used in the field to ensure accurate instruction in training.

  • Provide feedback to employees on a regular basis to encourage skills development and manage performance expectations.


  • Ensure safety of crews and personnel - promote, enforce, and develop extremely strong safety culture.

  • Complete special projects as requested and perform other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.

  • Experience as a technical trainer preferred.

  • Experience with writing professional or technical documents.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.

  • Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

  • Must always carry in a professional manner.

  • Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task quickly and efficiently.

  • Understand and accept changes that are implemented to become Best-in-Class.

  • Ability to understand scopes of work listed above or ability to learn technical skills quickly.

  • Must be able to travel up to 50-75% of the time.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.

  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print.

  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment.

  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.

*Startting pay $80,000 or higher based on experience
