Head Youth Swim Team Coach
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Head Coach for our Johnstown YMCAYouth Swim Team. This position is a leadership role. Our Head Coach manages all facets of building and maintaining our high quality, competitive swim program. This includes leading effective and fun swim practices for young people ages 5-18, placing swimmers in appropriate competitive categories and practice groups and regularly interacting with parents of our swimmers to share information and progress. You will manage assistant coaches and report to the Aquatics Director.

Salary range $22-$29 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe aquatic environment through the enforcement of all YMCA of Northern Colorado policies and regulations.
- Teaches fundamentals of synchronized swimming, strength and conditioning and sportsmanship through the core values of the YMCA and in accordance with YMCA guidelines and practices.
- Performs assigned coaching responsibilities, which may include practices, recruiting, recordkeeping & scheduling.
- Recruits prospective team members & provides information about YMCA membership and team fee structure.
- Attends all staff meetings & trainings as required.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations & procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident & accident reports as necessary.
- Assists with overseeing conduct of Swim Team members at meets & other team functions.
- Attends meets & functions as agreed upon with supervisor.
- Maintains effective communication with participants & parents.
- All other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
CERTIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold current certifications in First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR or the willingness to obtain prior to start date.
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
- USA Swimming Coach Certification or completion of certification prior to start date.
- Previous swim coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swimming as a sport to include but not limited to rules and regulations, skill development, training plans, swimmer education and motivation, parent involvement, competition and team administration.
- Experience with or knowledge of meet entry software preferred.

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
