Our client, a growing global premium apparel omni brand based on the West Coast, needs a Head of Sourcing and Product Development leader. Reporting to the President, this leader will oversee all facets of global sourcing (currently through an agent), manufacturing, AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT by identifying appropriate vendors/factories, placing/negotiating manufacturing orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods and will act as a strategic partner to the business. The ideal leader has relationships with agents overseas, has overseen a PLM implementation, and has expertise with better fabrics and relationships within the industry. The role is based on the West Coast and is in-office 3x a week. Relocation is available for the right leader.
This position requires exceptional leadership skills and will be responsible for managing an on-site team of 20+ people including Sourcing, Production, and Product Development/Technical Design.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategic supply chain/vendor base; partner with corporate resources and third-party partners to achieve global sourcing efficiencies and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to streamline operations.
Oversee and perform competitive research and continuously evaluate marketplace to identify appropriate vendors for categories and brand(s); monitor market and other trends to strategically determine optimal placement of goods for pricing, timing, and reliability.
Review applicability of key trends in sourcing, manufacturing, fabrications, and construction; review significant innovations and share with partners in Merchandising and Design on regular basis.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of success within Sourcing & Product Development in the better apparel market.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in leadership roles within Sourcing & Product Development.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all aspects of the enterprise.
Ability to travel overseas as needed.
The salary range for this role is $300k+ BOE.
