The Opportunity
Our location in Alameda, California has an opportunity for a Design/Product Development Engineer. This engineer role supports our next-generation biosensor product design and development, focusing on data analyses on integrated systems test and evaluation.
What you’ll work on
- Support R&D Product Development need on data analysis from multiple areas, including software, hardware, mechanics, and algorithm development, etc.
- Analyze unstructured and/or structured biological data from biosensor clinical trials and evaluate biosensors performance to support product designs. Proactively identifies improvement opportunities for sensor product design and/or manufacturing process.
- Apply analytical and data mining techniques on large clinical dataset and conduct advanced statistical analysis such as regression, time-series forecasting, decision trees, modeling and optimization.
- Develop data visualization tools and investigate sensor issues to support product enhancement.
- Draw insights and present results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simple manner to functional stakeholder, for clinical research testing and evaluation of integrated bio-wearable sensor systems.
- Collaborate with software and algorithm teams to develop and test clinical data toolchain. Design, write and maintain spec documents. May work on product algorithm test and verification.

Required Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering or a relevant physical or life science. Master’s or above preferred.
- 4+ years relevant experience and a BS degree, or 2+ years relevant experience and a MS degree, or equivalent years of education and experience in Engineering and Sciences.
- MATLAB programing proficiency is required.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with biological data analysis, statistical analysis, algorithm development, and software programming.
- Additional skill with software tools of Python, C/C++, JMP, and R, etc. is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of design controls and regulations for medical device development is a plus.

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
