As Head of Investment Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, you will be a part of Enterprise Risk Management. You will lead the 2nd line of defense of the investment portfolio. You will provide independent monitoring, risk analysis and risk management oversight for the firm's investment portfolio, ensuring the risk is within the firm's overall corporate risk appetites. This will be a highly visible role with heavy interaction with the Investment Teams and other functions across the Enterprise.
You Will:
- Partner with Investment Department to closely monitor the investment & liquidity risks in Guardian's investment portfolio.
- Provide critical inputs into the firm's Investment Risk policies and guidelines and evaluate the portfolio risks in the context of established risk limits and corporate risk appetites.
- Provide support and analytics to Financial Risk & broader Enterprise Risk management function
- Prepare analysis, reports, and ad-hoc projects to support the various Risk Committees up to and including the Board of Directors.
- Work closely with the Investment Department and Actuarial Group to design and implement appropriate stress scenarios.
- Leverage internal and external credit analysis to form independent views on the portfolio credit risks, as well as perform independent credit risk review into a specific asset class as needed.

- 10+ years of risk management experience gained from a significant financial institution with preference for life insurance companies
- Credit Modelling experience
- Deep knowledge of fixed income assets (Public & Private Bonds, Commercial Real Estate, Securitized Products) in terms of their risk profiles under normal and stress conditions.
- Working knowledge of multiple asset classes and the primary risk drivers.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Database management tools (SQL, Tableau, etc)
- Technically proficient in working with large data sets, background in credit risk, and the ability to communicate and present advanced analytical information to various audiences.
- Great communicator and "Can Do" attitude
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in managing multiple priorities
- Ability to take complex issues and simplify for execution

- New York, NY (Hudson Yards)
- Hybrid role -in office 2-3 days a week
- WFH - 2+ days a week.
Salary Range
$171,330.00 - $281,467.50
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
