Job description

The Latam Cluster Investment Head within the Private Bank responsibilities consists of:
-Strategize and ensure Execution of the Investment Strategy and Client analytics for the cluster partnering with the product Investment organization to deliver the offerings for the market and clients
-Lead the Investment Counselors client coverage teams across the cluster, which is delivered through inter disciplinary teams that focus on meeting the clients' investments needs and provide investment advice
Reporting to the Global Head of Private Banking, the Latam Cluster Investment Head of the Citi Private Bank will ensure that the Managed Investments and Capital Markets strategies achieves and maintains a leading position with our Private Bank clients in Latam.
Additionally:

  • Manage a team of professionals with product focus on Managed Investments and Capital Markets, overseeing discretionary and advisory assets and securities portfolios
  • Responsible for formulating the Private Bank's investment strategy and delivering investment advice and execution across all asset classes on a global basis
  • Drive core discretionary and advisory private client asset growth by becoming our clients primary trusted advisor.
  • Drive activity across all the asset classes: FX, equities, fixed income, commodities, structured products, traditional managed investments, alternatives (hedge funds, private equity and real estate) and discretionary portfolio management. In particular, maintain balance between capital markets offerings and managed investment offerings
  • Develop and deepen relationships with sophisticated new Private Bank clients and prospects to ensure they are fully knowledgeable about the Private Bank's investment capabilities to drive AUM growth and overall platform utilization
  • Function well in a large, diversified global organization and be able to handle multiple stake holders
  • Ability to coordinate with other teams and work closely with GMM and Team Leaders by establishing strong internal business relationships. Will report to the Global Head for Private Banking
  • Facilitate revenue growth through managing the cost to income ratio, proactively managing expenses and consolidating the business where appropriate, creating efficiencies and maximizing return on capital

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills as there is a high degree of internal and external client contact
  • Solid technical investment qualification and experience, specifically proven ability in managing sales and trading platforms, with the execution, trading, and advisory of the main asset classes; ability to understand, transact and dissect structured products as well as familiarity with the distribution of managed investment products
  • Senior risk management experience associated with the oversight of asset management businesses including proprietary and non-proprietary investment management, private equity, real estate and hedge funds
  • Strong track record and experience in leading a cluster/ geography in the Private Banking sector
  • Demonstrated industry leadership advising ultra high net worth individuals on issues associated with their investment management and capital markets activities, as well as family business matters
  • Experience leading large team(s) and proven to function well within a large matrix

Qualifications:
  • In depth experience with Markets products across all asset classes, specifically for UHNW/HNW clients
  • In depth experience in the structured management business across traditional and alternative asset classes, specifically for UHNW clients
  • In depth experience with Hedging and Monetization strategies and solutions
  • Successful understanding and leadership of a multi-product business
  • Strong intellectual grasp of the industry; the ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes
  • Ability to translate vision into executable plans
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Credibility and gravitas to build, lead, and motivate across products and matrix reporting lines
  • Superior problem solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Series 7 and 24 licenses required; Series 3 and 4 highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or a related field required.
