About the role:
The VP of Udacity's B2C business is responsible for overseeing a variety of functions that support the company's consumer business. This leadership role is accountable for planning and executing short-term and long-term strategies for the B2C segment of the company, driving major brand initiatives from start to end, improving the customer experience, and scaling the consumer business overall.
The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience in B2C leadership roles, a deep understanding of consumer experience, be able to collaborate/build strong cross-functional relationships, and use data/insights to implement effective solutions.
What you'll do:
  • Define short-term and long-term strategic goals, roadmaps, and success measures for the B2C business
  • Oversee the following teams and functions that are responsible for end-to-end execution of Udacity's consumer strategy: Lifecycle communications, marketing operations, digital marketing, partnerships, and brand
  • Make strategic decisions in terms of organizational setup and hiring to ensure
  • efficiency and productivity
  • Build strong and effective partnerships across the organization in order to reach cross-functional goals
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure appropriate resourcing and support
  • Synthesize complex information and communicate it clearly to a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Conduct deep and thorough customer research to understand customer experience, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend impactful solutions
  • Fully understand how customer experience ties to business outcomes such as revenue, gross profit, market share, retention, NPS, and brand metrics
  • Scale the consumer business and ensure that the customer experience laddersup to our overarching brand goals
  • Partner with Product and Engineering stakeholders to determine a roadmap for a/b testing
  • Guide digital product initiatives by providing guidance & tactical input on business cases and user experiences
  • Engage deeply on growth marketing activities and marketplace channels with acquisition/renewal
  • Provide guidance on campaigns, creatives, tests, and audience targeting
  • Manage the P&L of the consumer business (including marketing spend, budget requirements, sales forecasts, margin improvement initiatives) in collaboration with the finance team

Your profile:
  • ~10 years of experience in eCommerce, with a deep focus on business growth
  • A thoughtful leader who can be both a visionary leader and an operational manager
  • A proven track-record empowering teams to do great work in a structure that keeps decision-making rights with functional leads
  • A strong interest in identifying consumer needs & building customer-first experiences
  • Extensive experience developing an a/b testing roadmap, running a/b tests, and interpreting results
  • Proven marketer who understands and has worked across the full DTC marketing funnel
  • 360 brand thinker who appreciates and invests in the entire process, from product to marketing to merchandising to driving loyalty
  • Highly analytical/structured thinker who is comfortable with data and complex information
  • Natural excitement to roll up your sleeves, take initiative, and execute
  • Passion for working collaboratively and building rapport with cross-functional partners
  • Strong communicator who thrives on clear, direct, and supportive communication

Location: While this is a remote role, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis
Compensation: The maximum base pay for this position is $210,000, depending on experience and location. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, participation in Udacity's equity plan and generous benefits.
