Kitchen Head Chef / Kitchen Manager:
The Kitchen Head Chef/ Manager is responsible for preparing and supervising the daily food prep, cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to supervise the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Assist the Sales and the F&B manager in executing Catering menus.
Responsibilities and essential functions:
· Responsible for the budgeted Food cost and Labor Cost % to revenue.
· Ensuring that all food items and products are stored, prepared, and served based on the restaurant’s recipe, preparation, and portion standards.
· Inventory and order kitchen materials and ingredients based on the menu and market demand.
· Supervising food preparation and plating in the kitchen and ensuring that customers are satisfied.
· Maintaining clean working environments and making sure that employees follow the restaurant’s preventive maintenance measures.
· Schedules shifts by business hours, days, and occasions.
· Properly hire staff, review, and counsel kitchen associates.
· Be Flexible and be available to stay longer due to staffing needs.
· Arrive at work on time in a clean, company uniform, with all the required safety equipment.
· Create new menu items and prepare meals and recipes in coordination with the F&B Manager.
· Ensure a fast and efficient delivery service to the service and restaurant staff.
· Monitor stock receiving and report any discrepancies to the vendor to resolve the issue.
· supervise, motivate, and train all kitchen cooks and Prep-cooks/personnel on delivering food quality exceeding brand and ownership standards.
· Properly use all kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions to the maintenance for repair.
· Train Utility and Dishwasher associates and ensure proper cleaning of the equipment.
· Ensure garbage separation standards are enforced and followed.
· Execute any catering special menus as requested by the sales and F&B manager for special occasions and events.
· Perform all reasonable kitchen-related functions as requested by the management.
