Responsibilities
- Oversee the everyday functioning of the assigned Residential Group Home
- Responsible for employee support, achieving positive outcomes, consumer satisfaction, community care licensing compliance, and financial health
- The Group Home Manager will monitor and supervise Direct Care Staff along with having ongoing collaboration contacts with other public and private agencies
- Schedules staff and provides unit coverage as indicated by staffing needs
- Schedules and coordinates daily operations of clients and staff
- Creates initial and ongoing service plans for children in care
- Creates discharge summaries as needed
- Maintains awareness of client responses to treatment techniques
- Attends medication reviews, staffing, and any court hearings
- Maintains contact with caseworkers and others to keep them updated on client progress
- Communicates with school personnel and others regarding clients as needed
- Writes and/or reviews all incident reports before leaving shift and ensures incident reports are submitted to Administration on time
- Ensures that facilities are kept clean and organized and maintains compliance with Licensing and agency physical plant standards
- Directly supervises direct care staff providing care to children;
- Submits Census and other reports to Program Director as needed
- Trains new staff to the Group Home, program, and clients
- Performs new client intakes as needed
- Maintains good working relationships with outside contacts (i.e., case managers, supervisors, public schools, probation officers, neighbors, State Licensing staff, etc.)
- Responds to all telephone calls, emails, and other inquiries on time
- Maintains client, staff, and agency confidentiality
- Supervises daily living routine for children in care
- Transports clients as needed (school, visitation, recreation, church, court, appointments)
- Administers medications and accurately completes corresponding documentation
- Cook meals according to the posted menu
- Performs daily household cleaning and maintenance chores as needed
- Learns and follows all applicable policies and procedures
- Arranges appointments for children as needed (medical, dental, psych, vision, etc.)
- Writes and maintains accurate documentation (case notes, incident reports, medication schedules, client logs, facility logs, sleep patterns, client behaviors, interactions, etc.)
- Communicates timely and effectively with other Group Home staff regarding the children in care at the Group Home
- Participates in all management meetings, in-service training, and staff development activities as scheduled
- Maintains control and order in the program, including enforcement of rules and regulations
- Provides guidance and encouragement and acts as a resource for youth in care
- Demonstrates positive role model skills and appropriate ethical behavior
- Demonstrates an interest and sensitivity to working around abused, abandoned, and/or neglected children
- Ensures that there is an emergency on-call system that responds to after-hour?s crisis in a safe and timely manner
