Job Path is seeking proposals from Job Path’s Direct Support Professionals to lead and facilitate groups, either from Job Path’s office or, preferably, in Community based spaces. The Group Facilitator will also identify opportunities for individuals to become part of the community, establishing relationships with venues and community organizations. The ideal candidate will adapt various projects to meet the ability level and interest of the individuals, and will work with individuals at all levels of abilities to encourage and assist them to express themselves.
The groups must:
- Be based on the shared interests among the people we support to enhance specific areas of interest or skills
- Have advanced planning and have a meaningful plan for each group meeting (rather than a group that has no set curriculum or agenda)
- Meet at least twice a month,
- Have at least four people enrolled in the group and
- A minimum of three people, or 50% of enrollees, whichever is greater, who can be billed for
- Help in the process of gaining eligibility for non billable people by working with Intake Coordinator (reminding people of appointments,
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:
- Through weekly gatherings, cultivate skills and opportunities between people we support and the wider community
- Support and cultivate talent and help individuals grow
- Ensure that attendance is tracked for the groups and Conduct other tasks as needed or required
- Arrange for people to participate in Community based activities
- Manage event invitations and booking space
Salary: $26.65/hour, regular schedule of two to four hours per week, depending on the nature and preparation time required for the group. Additional hours will be permitted for special projects with approval from supervisor.
