We are hiring in NYC! Join us at Fedcap Inc. for an exciting career as a Workshop Facilitator. Salary: $65k
Position Summary:
Responsible for delivering training based on a lesson plan, on subjects related to programming within city jails. Programming ranges from creative writing, arts and crafts to Evidence-Based practices, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Facilitators will lead all instruction, prepare handout materials, and teach to all learning styles (auditory, visual, kinesthetic seeing, hearing, and touching).
Essential Job Functions:
  • Facilitate life skills and training curriculum and facilitates groups to participants inside the city Jails.
  • Must follow established and approved lesson plan with clear objectives and outcomes, set daily laying out the expectations of the day including handouts, textbooks, workbooks, web-based resources, and video.
  • Facilitator must have the range to facilitate session that (with training) include:
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Seeking Safety
  • Anger Management
  • CBT
  • Parenting
  • Financial Management
  • Industry Recognized Training
  • Arts and Craft
  • Creative Writing
  • Substance use treatment.
  • PTSD services
  • Mastery of small group facilitation techniques and the ability to present content in each of the three learning modes.
  • Ability to command the attention and respect of learners and help apply all lessons learned to where they are today and where they see themselves in the future.
  • Workshop activities will be structured and observed by supervisor.
  • Is punctual and dependable in making sessions and preparing for them in advance.
  • Gives assignments to learners and tracks performance and progress.
  • Maintains a clear written calendar of weekly classes.
  • Writes weekly case notes for each learner, highlighting topics reviewed, participation, and progress.
  • Completes session reports that are timely, accurate and complete.
  • Attends regular supervision.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in adult education, education, human relations, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Knowledge of or experience in job development, human resources, or employer relations.
  • Experience in workforce development.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work full time in a jail setting among incarcerated individuals.
  • Excellent facilitating skills
  • Very strong command of information
  • Extremely aware of his/her surroundings
  • Ability to pass clearance from Department of Corrections.
  • Ability to command attention.
  • Highly dynamic, can work a room.
  • Highly Engaging to learners, ability to hold attention.
  • Sets expectations and get results.
  • Bilingual preferred in Spanish preferred.
