Hybrid position in Boca Raton
Local candidates preferred, but we'll pay to relocate a highly fitting out of area candidate who resides in the Southeast USA also
RESPONSIBILITES
Manage the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
Produce complete, accurate, and timely GAAP and statutory based financial statements, including consolidations and financial based regulatory compliance reporting
Develop and maintain internal control environment, ensuring on-going compliance with key internal control procedures and regulatory compliance
Reconcile Accounts each month and ensure that any discrepancies are appropriately resolved
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and billing in accordance with reinsurance contracts
Oversee the development and maintenance of reporting necessary to support financial reporting from both policy administration and claims management systems
Provide various financial analysis as needed in support of current or planned business objectives and strategies
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
Manage banking relationship dynamics, including new account establishment as well as the setup of related account products and services that integrate with policy administration and claim systems
Facilitate the annual external audit and tax compliance reporting processes
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
10+ years professional Accounting experience, including significant participation in leadership roles within property & casualty insurance company(s)
Reinsurance contracts and their accounting implications
Federal income taxation of property & casualty insurers
Advanced knowledge of technology used by insurance businesses and/or financial systems
