- Effective interpersonal skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience as a grounds worker in a public school district, hospital or other institutional setting.
- Applicators license for outdoor applications
- IPM Certification
- Playground Certification (CPSI) preferred
- Two years as supervisor of grounds.
- Current Texas driver’s license (reviewed annually)
- Must be able to operate a district assigned vehicle
- Assist in transfer of equipment as needed.
- Operate grounds equipment, including tractors and mowers, as needed.
- Set standards for other grounds employees.
- Manages all outdoor herbicide and insecticide treatments
- Assists with CISD IPM program
- Schedule grounds employees for athletic extracurricular events at stadium and other outdoor facilities as assigned.
- Procure supplies and equipment as needed.
- Manages and/or repairs all playground issues
- Assist Director of Facilities budgeting process.
- Oversee irrigation scheduling and makes repair and adjustments as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring storage, and repairs of all grounds equipment
- Oversee contractors conducting grounds work, including major landscaping contractor.
- Keep abreast of innovative practices.
- Be adaptable and flexible in acceptance of changes in techniques and procedures.
- Maintain a professional level of confidentiality regarding all district matters.
- Uphold and adhere to safety rules.
- Support the goals and objectives of the district and follow district policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
